JUST LIKE ME.  RIGHT NOW I AM AFFIXED TO MY ALCATRAZ SERIES AND PROBABLY WILL USE IT FOR THE NEW OPPORTUNITY TO PROJECT IMAGERY ON THAT RED BRICK GERMAN BUILDING. I THINK YOU CAN USE WHATEVER Y0U WANT TO MAKE ART IS, THAT'S THE SPIRIT OF WEBISM. BUT  MANY OF THESE PROJECTS USE TECH MEANS TO EXHIBIT, DISPLAY, SUCH AS CDS, DVDS, ETC. I DON'T THANK THERE'S A PROBLEM IF YOU SCAN TRADITIONAL ART. BUT IF IN DOUBT, DON'T BE AFRAID TO JUST ASK THE PROJECT INITIATOR.  THEN OF COURSE YOU ALSO DO DIGITAL ART SO YOU SHOULD NEVER EVER HAVE TO BE DISCOUNTED FROM A PROJECT YOU WANT TO BE IN. USE ANY OF YOUR ARSENAL OF ART TOOLS, MIXED 'UM UP AS YOU SEE FIT.

FOR ME I ALWAYS DE-EMPHASIZE WHAT PLATFORM OR SOFTWARE IS/WAS USED FOR A WORK OF ART. THE CENTRAL IMPORTANCE FOR ME IS THAT IT CAPTURES MY FEELINGS FOR THE MOMENT IN TIME.  WHATEVER WAS AVAILABLE AT THE TIME ON MY DESKTOP (LITERALLY MEAN HERE) IS WHAT I USED TO DO THE ART EXPRESSION/STATEMENT.  I DON'T' GIVE MUCH CREDIT TO THE MANUFACTURER OF MY ART TOOLS.

> I was wondering what is the 'global' standard or
> style now.

I DON'T' CARE ABOUT ANY STANDARDS FOR ANY STYLE. I JUST KEEP JUGGING DOWN MY PERSONAL ROAD OF LIFE CREATING WHAT I AM LIKE AT THE MOMENT. FUN ALWAYS TO LOOK BACK YEARS LATER AND SEE HOW I WAS FEELING, THINKING, MAKING CREATIVE CHOICES AT EARLIER AGES.

I DO ART MORE FOR MYSELF THAN ANYBODY ELSE OR THEIR STANDARDS OR THEIR NEED TO CATEGORIZE INTO STYLES.
I CANNOT FEEL SATISFIED LETTING SIGNIFICANT TIME ELAPSE AND NOT MAKE SOME MARKS.
I'D FEEL IRRESPONSIBLE OR LAZY HAVING NOT USED MY VISUAL CREATIVITY.

I have thousands of images from all my
> different art periods and can make just about
> anything in a short time.
> I was wondering if what I do is 'not
> allowed!'

DON'T WORRY SO MUCH ABOUT WHAT'S ALLOWED OR IS ACCEPTABLE.  I NEVER DO, IN FACT I LIKE TO DO THE OPPOSITE OF WHAT IS EXPECTED OF ME.  MAYBE THAT'S WHY I HAVE A PROBLEM MIDDLE CHILD WHO COUNTERS ME ON ANY THOUGHT, ANY VALUE I DISPLAY.

I mean  is a digital collage digital
> art?

OF COURSE IT IS, MY DEAR.

EVEN MANIPULATED PHOTOGRAPHS LIKE THE ALCATRAZ SERIES.
TALKING ABOUT COLLAGE, MY DEAR FRIEND HERE, SUSAN ROGERS-AREGGER HAS A BOOK COMING OUT WITH GLORIA FOSS, THE GRAND MADAME OF LOCAL OIL PAINTING TECHNIQUE.  IT'S CALLED PAPER DYEING FOR COLLAGE AND CRAFTS AND I'LL GET IT TO SUPPORT THEM. SUSAN IS A MASTER AT PAPER COLLAGE.  SO IF I'M GOING TO DABBLE IN PAPER JUST SO I DON'T' WASTE MY MONEY ON A HOW TO BOOK, FOR SURE I'LL SCAN AND CONVERT THEM INTO DIGITAL COLLAGES. IF INTERESTED WRITE SUSAN, sraoahu@hawaii.rr.com   her site   ww.sraoahu.com   DO CONTACT HER, SHE'S A REAL SWEETHEART, USED TO HAVE A WAIKIKI GALLERY, MARRIED TO RICH GUY, BOTH LIVE ON WATERFRONT HAWAII PROPERTY I CANNOT AFFORD. NO KIDS.  HER BOOKS ONLY 21.95$ BUT UPS TO 24.95 AFTER SEPT 30 04. SUPPORT AN ARTIST!

HERE'S A CHALLENGE - YOU AND I HAVE A 2-PERSON COLLAGE-DIGITAL SHOW SOMEWHERE!

OR YOU SPONSOR A WEBISTS' DIGITAL COLLAGE SHOW, USE COLLAGE DIGITAL IMAGES OR REAL SCANNED COLLAGE WITH DIGITAL. YOU DIRECT, CURATE, YOU CALL THE SHOTS, YOU TELL WHAT IS THE STANDARDS, WHAT IS ART, WHAT THE RULES ARE. DON'T LET SOMEBODY ELSE TELL YOU HOW TO BE CREATIVE.  I WAS MOST CREATIVE AT 1.5 YRS OLD WHEN I USED MY OWN EXCREMENT AS PAINT - ALL OVER MY PLAYPEN, BODY AND FACE.  WISH SOMEBODY TOOK A PHOTO TO CAPTURE THAT MASTERPIECE! STILL REMEMBER WHAT MY MEDIUM TASTED LIKE TOO. ONCE YOU TASTE IT, YOU NEVER FORGET IT. ART'S ART.

What do you think? I went back to my web
> site and changed all my digital works to say only
> digital instead of describing HOW I MADE THEM.
> What's going on?

I NEVER TELL ANYBODY HOW I MAKE MY ART. IT'S NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. I AM PYGOYA, IMAGE MAKER, PERIOD.

TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT OR GO FIGURE IT OUT YOURSELF. I MAKE VIRGIN IMAGERY FOR EYES, NOT THE ANALYTICAL MIND.

If it was created as an original
> image on a computer, doesn't that make it qualify
> as digital art?

YES.  IF YOU WANT TO EVER CHECK OUT HOW I RESOLVED ALL THESE QUESTIONS, ISSUES FOR MYSELF BEFORE BECOMING SUCH A HARD ASS ARTIST ABOUT MY WORK, GO TO MY ONLINE JOURNAL TO UNRAVEL TIME TO WHEN SUCH QUESTION WERE RELEVANT FOR MY DEVELOPMENT OF A PERSONALIZED ART PHILOSOPHY BY WHICH TO GUIDE MY CREATIVE SPIRIT AND JOURNEY, ONE ON ONE.
