Royal Gardens - A Dream Dig

January 26, 2008

Hi JJ, (Big Island of Hawaii realtor)

Just had a dream. Of Royal Gardens!
Question: is it still accessible?- heard some homes still standing with access from cleared roads to navigate about.
Question- what happened to the destoryed homes. Still owned by the title holders of the properties? Abandoned as worthless or sellable?
Question- have you been to the area?
Question - any structures only half buried and still partially visible and accessible?
Question- do you think some structures can be accessed through the buried roof so I can burrow down and live in it as a vacation house?
Question- can I buy a lot with buried homestead and can you help me get excation heavy equip crew to excavate to extricate sections of household (or sections of the house) fused to lava?  The dream pointed to taken out such human-nature integrated "artifacts" as cultural artist/anthropologist to placing in museum exhibits.
I know the head of the UH sculpture department in Manoa, a Kam school grad and maker or large wood and metal outdoor Hawaiiana works.  I plan to contact him about some sort of grant and his take on this idea of showing the world the devastation of Pele.
Question: know any helicopter co. than could lower manikins in front of the path of activa lava, then remove it before it incinerates and have firestruck hoose down to stop the burn?  Idea: standing figures engulfed in lava for museum show.
Question: what if I bought a lot in Royal Gardens to create a "sculptural park" on top and access below to the house for shelter (and my tourist gallery)?
Question: or buy cheap land in Puna to haul my "found objects" (with the help of rented heavy equipment) from Royal Gardens to create a "lava sculptural park", say in a place like Fern Forest?
What do you think?  Can you help me fulfill this "dream" sent by - who knows, Pele - as a warning? To stop future development in Puna?

Py

Dear Py,

Royal Gardens is inacessible but by foot and
helicopter.  I haven't ever been as the walk
looks to be about 2-4 miles from where road ends,
and your car is vulnerable there if you park it.

There is apparently 1 resident in subdivision.

What else can I say??? Destroyed homes under
60 feet of lava, and new lava approaching....
some homes still stand...can get you number of
my dozer guy who is very good but will cost a
bundle to drive the dozer to the subdivision
since it's so far away from real road....

You should know....can't stop developement in
Puna unless you send a comet to strike the earth
and stop development worldwide...lava is a minor
matter compared to other destruction events like
tsunami, asteroids, pole-shift....

Will send available properties....But the
Buyer must BEWARE!!!

Aloha,
JJ

Py, only 1 active, a few solds, lotsa expired
and withdrawn listings....no residential listings
active or sold in recent times.....click on links
to read what remarks say.....think its BS they
are going to put road back in!!

Dear Py,

I will do a tax search of all residences
in RG and mail out to see if anyone wants
to sell to you....

Could take a week or months to get results
if you are patient....

Aloha,
JJ

Too bad you couldn't get the National Science Foundation or some such organization to fund that dig.Because, yes,I think it'd be awesome. That's one of the reasons I like you Doc.Those ideas never stop coming. And they are as weird as they come. And coming from a guy like me that's a fucking compliment.I can see the video with you traveling down the ladder for the first time all ear to ear shit eating grin about to go where no man has gone before and then coming back out of the whole with a chunk of lava with a hand jutting out holding a copy of The Roswell Encounter Gallery!!!OH HELL YEAH!!!That's what you need though.Get National Geographic on board for it or somebody like that.Take it to the science community first ,then use what you find to have an art exhibit. It might just work.Maybe get your dentist buddies interested in investing in something that'll get their names attached to something for future generations.Just a thought.
more soon,
