Quotation from "Juror's Statement"-

In general it seems that most artists have opted for personal development of a convenient, comfortable, historical style, and confine themselves to safe bounds. I found little evidence of any art emanating from the insatialbe reading of art magazines, (in contrast to first hand experience) as in Australia. Nor, was there the quirky or irreverent eccentricity that comes from isolation --- only Rodney "Disco Doc" Chang's "Artist's Hangout" shows the potential of breaking new territory. Bettina Jones' naive and compulsive figure studies also display great potential.
