GARTEL COMUTER GRAPHICS
(LETTER TO RODNEY CHANG, MARCH 28, 1989)
Hello. I've been thinking about you and your great efforts to forward the cause of Computer Graphics.
I am sorry to report that I have not found any cooperating institutions that would be interested in doing a FAX show. I personally think it is a great idea. One day it will sprout out at a place that I suggested. Sometimes you plant a seed in somebody's head and they take the idea later on and claim it for themselves. Ain't it the truth.
I am sorry for being so pessimistic but I will continue to see what we can do together.
Hope all is well and I appreciate your continued communication.
LAURANCE M. GARTEL
....Don't despair. There's more to computer art than FAX machines. However
that is still a viable and exciting project to attempt to bring to fruition. Let me
try and work it from this side of the US. Apple Computers finally is going to try
and break into the Hawaii high tech market, of which IBM and compatibles are firmly
entrenched. They're going first class, taking up beautiful downtown expansion
waterfront building space with lots of square feet. They're scheduled to open in 2-3
months. If you would like, I'll promote the FAX idea to them and try to do our
"show" between apple-Hawaii Center and their contact point in New York City.
