Inspired by the rain forest striving on the top (above the clouds many times)
of the live volcano in Hawaii Volcano National Park

Artist's statement - there is a symbiotic relationship between the volcano and the rooted rain
forests on the Big Island of Hawaii in the Volcano, Puna area. To the ancient Hawaiians the
goddess Pele resides within the volcano and the land is alive with spirituality and mystical karma.
The roots of the giant tree ferns and native Ohia trees are living appendages that anchor life to the
volcanic lava terrain;  at an altitude 3000 feet above sea level  together they create an ecosystem
 and climate quite unlike the lowlands of Hilo and Kona..
