Paradise found!

The genius of our species!

Like plastic sheets, these palms let the morning light transmit through them.

This scene should be a painting that reminisces the marathoner's journey.

Another town's (Alae) passed generation is witness to the runners passing by.

Golden silvery light meshes with the foliage

We got 9 miles completed.

at 15 KM

East Hawaii's volcanic black sand beaches

A spectacular grove of high standing palms grace our passageway.

Some people sure know how to live.

More rural residences along the way

What a grand old house overlooking the beach behind it.

Ah, I arrive in Hilo town, actually the second largest city of the state of Hawaii (populaton around 45,000, compared to Honolulu at 850,000)

Approaching downtown

Entry into downtown Hilo

Downtown Hilo = 10 mile mark

Lovely natural sculptural forms along the beach
