Born 1948, at Nyack, New York, Timothy In has resided in Honolulu, Hawaii from the age of a little over two. He grew up amidst the lush green foliage of Manoa Valley on the island of Oahu. The Valley is noted for it's waterfalls and rainbows. In credits this enchanting environment for part of his artistic sensibility; love of color and love of rainbows.
He attended the University of Hawaii majoring in Architecture and Fine Arts. The artist attained a BFA in environmental design from the University in 1970. In August of that year, he was commissioned a lieutenant in the US Air Force and entered active service to attend flight training. He served during the Vietnam War as the rear-seat crewmember of the F-4 Phantom Fighter. Between flying missions at Okinawa and Taiwan, his artistic abilities were utilized as the squadron graphic artist, namely: sign maker extrodinaire.
