EHCC/HILO 2001
During July 6 and 7, 2001, Pygoya flew from Honolulu to Hilo to attend his exhibition's opening reception at East Hawai'i Cultural Center. Besides documenting the opening on the evening of the 6th, Pygoya was inspired to capture more of EHCC and Hilo town in imagery for the Internet audience. This section of the web site also gives the online visitor a sense of place and an idea of the ambiance of other EHCC installed art exhibitions. EHCC earned top gallery exhibiting space for the Big Island of Hawai'i for 2001 by a local cultural and media institution.
Here are the results using an economic camera
bought on the Web. Show note: the artist's 24 works were kept to the
scale of 8x10" framed formats as the show thereafter travels to Uruguay and
Egypt and shipping by snail mail to the other side of the planet is
costly. The digital imagery was creatively enhanced using graphic tools of
the cyberartist, reflecting the artist-photographer's personal expression of his
natural world.
