CYBERPAINTINGS
PAINTED OIL/ACRYLIC CANVASES AS  DIGITAL ART

WORKS DOCUMENT PYGOYA'S 1985-97 EFFORT
IN CREATING DIGITAL IMAGERY FOR MANUAL
OIL OR ACRYLIC ON CANVAS RENDERINGS

The works document early personal computer system capabilities
in generating fine arts during the last quarter of the 20th century by
one experimenting artist. Pygoya emphasized the visual presence of
pixels in such low resolution screen imagery, emphasizing such
particulation of the surface by brush and dubbing the painted
stylization "Pixelism" in the 1990s. Some of the works have been
in turn of the century museum exhibitions, such as the Las Vegas
art museum, Shanghai Art Museum and the Bronx Museum in NY.
